  1. The Amateur Seismology Package is a collection of programs, data files,
  2. and documentation which allows users of IBM compatible personal computers
  3. to load seismic data files and print seismograms using data files distributed
  4. by the author.  The package includes the program "Seisgraph", a sample data
  5. file, and a user's manual which contains a list of sources of information for
  6. hobbyists who wish to build their own seismometer.  The author does not
  7. request any support fees.

  9. The Package and associated data files are distributed via the EXEC-PC BBS
  10. (in the 'Mahoney MS-DOS Collection') and the NEIC BBS (in the AMSEIS file
  11. area).  See AMSEIMAN.TXT for instructions on how to connect to these BBS
  12. systems.

  14. The Amateur Seismology Package is contained in the file AMSEIS12.ZIP (all
  15. files with the .ZIP extension have been compressed using the PKZIP utility).
  16. AMSEIS12.ZIP contains the user's manual (AMSEIMAN.TXT), Seisgraph executable
  17. (SG.EXE), and a sample data file (SAMPLE.DAT).  AMSEIMAN.TXT is available 
  18. separately.

  20. The file SEISBULL.TXT is also available for download.  SEISBULL.TXT is used
  21. to provide a current list of the data files which have been uploaded and to
  22. communicate with users.
